Introducing: Community Spotlight Series

The need for justice and equity within our community demands constant attention, and we are grateful for the countless organizations, committees, and activist groups working toward their causes. Sanctuary is a community partner to these organizations and groups, with the intent to raise awareness and encourage action. We hope to use our platform and resources to foster change!

In that spirit, Sanctuary is pleased to introduce our vision for a monthly Community Spotlight Series. One local organization will be chosen as our Community Spotlight partner each month, and during that time we will feature their story and services throughout Sanctuary’s communication channels. Included in this outreach campaign will be:

  • Inclusion in at least one of our weekly newsletters (~5,000 subscribers)

  • At least two social media posts about organization services (~1,200 followers)

  • An opportunity to tell your story in a post on our blog

  • A permanent listing on our Community Engagement webpage with a link to your site

  • An opportunity to display a flier and/or distribute pamphlets at our studio during the month

  • An event listing (see below) on our Events & Series webpage

  • At least two social media posts about the event we are co-organizing (see below)

Additionally, we will co-organize a celebratory community event which will be held at our beloved studio, overlooking Northampton’s Main Street in the historic Thornes Marketplace. These events will take place towards the end of the month so we have plenty of time to promote them through our combined outreach channels. The event can be intended for the public and can be educational, community-building, or fundraising in nature. Or, it could be a private event, offering a restorative/wellness activity that honors all the hard work that staff and volunteers contribute to the cause. The goal is to put our space to use in a supportive way for each partner organization.

As always, Sanctuary is looking for community partners who align with our mission, vision, and values

  • We are a center for personal healing and collective well-being, and we support individuals who are bravely committed to improving the health of our community and region.

  • We envision a community of activists who show up for their community by showing up for themselves, and we imagine all bodies feeling as safe as possible in our space, inclusive of ability, race, and religious background.

  • We are committed to holding space where people of all identities feel not just welcomed, but fully accepted and affirmed, just as they are.
