Featured Class: Queer & Trans Yoga

This recurring 6-week series is designed especially for LGBTQIA+ identified students who are looking to connect with their bodies and their breath in a supportive, community oriented environment. Sebastian’s teaching is gender-affirming, body-positive, and consent-oriented. All bodies, sizes, and abilities are welcome and celebrated. Drop-ins are welcome.

Tell us about your class!

Queer and Trans Yoga is a slower-paced, all-levels yoga class designed especially for LGBTQIA+ identified students. This space aims to create a container where queer and trans community members can cultivate joy, a deeper relationship with their bodies, and a sense of connectedness to their yoga practice. Each class features time for community and connection and an alignment-focused physical asana practice, ending with gentle restorative movement.

What is your favorite thing about teaching this series?

One of my favorite aspects of teaching Queer and Trans Yoga as a series is that through a commitment to attending each week, students are able to build a deeper sense of their own yoga practice as well as creating connections with fellow students. Holding the class for 90 minutes also means that we're able to spend more time at the beginning to arrive, center, and connect before beginning our flow.

What do you hope students will take away from Queer & Trans Yoga?

I hope that students build a stronger connection to their bodies and each other through this series.
