Meet Jon Orsini, Certified Somatic Breathwork Guide

What are some of the factors that shaped your path to becoming a certified somatic breathwork guide?

I started breathwork as a way to ease anxiety and eliminate panic attacks. After 20 years of self practice in breathwork and meditation I became a Somatic Breathwork Guide and joined the faculty at Kripalu Center. This came about as I saw the world shifting dramatically around 2020 and I wanted to share what I had learned and experienced in my practice over the years to help heal and bring people together.

What do you gain from this work?

As I gained deeper experience through my breathwork practice I not only cleared anxiety and eliminated panic attacks, I also began to expand authentic expression in my life and creative expression in my art as an actor, all the while deepening my connection to self and others - enriching my relationships and clarity of purpose along the way.

What do you hope your participants experience working with you?

My goal in working with clients is to liberate the energetic restrictions that keep us small, anxious and stressed. Authenticity is our highest vibration and our breath can set us free.

How does your work inform your activism or understanding of the world?

Breathwork supports my greater purpose in the world by building community one heart at a time - that you are not alone and your voice deserves to be heard, arriving fully and authentically in your life. Not only is it okay to feel - Feeling good starts with feeling fully.

What's your favorite season of the year and why?

I love every season but if pressed to choose, I find that summer tends to be my favorite - I enjoy being barefoot outdoors, laying in the grass, jumping in the ocean and feeling the sun.

What has made you smile recently that you want to share?

What has made me smile recently have been the vibrant colors of autumn in New England - I spent a long time living in NYC and though it is still a major piece of my heart and always will be, being surrounded by so much vibrant foliage has invited a certain buoyant childlike radiance to my recent days.
