Yoga

A Sanctuary for embodied exploration.

We offer a range of yoga, movement, and restorative classes for all ages, abilities, and life stages.

Sanctuary’s movement and yoga classes are facilitated by instructors providing skilled guidance, studied wisdom, and space to explore strength and movement on an individual and collective level.

The yoga teachers at Sanctuary are grounded in their lineages of yoga practice, and honor the roots of the many yogic traditions that come from India, as passed to them through their teachers.

We are thrilled to offer some classes specifically for pregnant and parenting people, children from ages 2–13, and the queer and trans community, and we are excited to offer more classes for different affinities of our expansive and diverse community of students in the future.

Classes are taught from an alignment-based perspective and instructors offer modifications for folks of different abilities and experience-levels. To learn more about selecting the class level that is right for you, visit our Class Descriptions page.

A Little More About Our Practice

When we ask longtime students what they love about their yoga practice at Sanctuary, they gush about the teachers’ range of expertise, the tight-knit community, and the beautiful space. But why?

We are a Hatha studio. Our teachers are grounded in their lineages of yoga practice, and honor the roots of the many yogic traditions that come from India, as passed to them through their teachers. They are trained in various lineages, but are connected through their philosophically rich and psychologically sound approach.

All students are welcome in Sanctuary's programs—students of every body type and physical ability; BIPOC students; queer, trans, and GNC students; students of every age; students from different religious traditions—everyone. All classes will clearly state their level of rigor and style of content to assist you in finding the right class for your practice.

We believe that yoga is an embodied spiritual practice that skillfully engages your internal landscape with collective experience. We believe that yoga goes hand-in-hand with social justice work. We are committed to embodying equity and unlearning racism, and to educating our community about the intersection of yoga with this work.

Our classes meet you where you are.

We have a variety of levels and styles to choose from (Form & Flow, Gentle Flow, Mindful Flow, Restorative, Strong Flow, and Yin), depending on your movement background and what you wish to gain from your yoga practice. If you have practiced yoga before or have other movement practices, we invite you to dive right in with our New Member Offer. If you are completely new to yoga, check out our weekly Foundational Yoga class. We offer wonderful prenatal and postpartum classes that honor your unique experience and connect you with fellow birth parents. And we occasionally offer classes for kids, too!

First time practicing with us? Welcome! Your first class is free. When you create a Punchpass account, you’ll automatically be assigned a complimentary Single Class Pass. You may use this pass for any one (1) of our weekly classes (special programming not included). All you need to do is sign up for the class of your choice.
