The Collective

Where healers and educators go for support and connection.

What is the Collective?

Offerings at Sanctuary are provided by an independent, multi-modal collective of experienced practitioners and educators who are dedicated to meeting our region’s evolving needs for connection and healing. Collective members collaborate with Sanctuary to varying degrees, and together we work to create a healing environment where each individual feels respected and safe.

Supporting the support.

Sanctuary honors that those who care for our community members need unique structures of support to be able to continue thriving while providing critical services. We also acknowledge that their needs as caregivers and healers are ever-changing, just as the needs of our communities are. Sanctuary exists to support each member of The Collective.

As a group of heart-centered professionals who are working together to expand the community’s access to embodied practices and healing arts, we are constantly reimagining the way we structure our business-to-business relationships. Collective members have a stake in how we show up for the community, and it’s important to us that their voices are heard when we make critical business decisions.

Collective members are supported by shared resources, infrastructure, administrative services, and expansive opportunities. Sanctuary is shifting the focus and ensuring care-givers feel cared for. We create collaborative spaces that meet each Collective member where they are at in their professional journey.

How do we collaborate?

We acknowledge that each Collective member is on their own path. Sanctuary hopes to play a supportive and collaborative role whenever our paths cross. To this end, there are a range of mutually-beneficial options for how we can work with one another, and we are always open to experimenting with new ways to nurture this relationship.

Collective members and Sanctuary work together by:

  • Collaborating on workshops, special series, and events that are offered to our community and the general public.

  • Coordinating space use agreements in which the practitioners rent our studio spaces to offer private services to their clients.

  • Managing a recurring schedule of yoga, movement, and restorative classes offered to our community and the general public.

Services Provided to the Collective

  • Sanctuary manages a variety of fully-equipped studio spaces in the historic Thornes Marketplace in downtown Northampton, MA. In addition to maintaining the functionality and cleanliness of the studios, Sanctuary provides policy oversight, a wide range of equipment and materials, capital investments, and ongoing ingenuity.

  • When appropriate, Sanctuary is able to support Collective members with a number of business administration services so they can focus more attention on their student and client relationships. Some of these services include, but are not limited to, customer service, payment processing, technical support, scheduling and logistics, and software management

  • With 25 years of experience serving the Greater Northampton community, Sanctuary is a well-known and respected entity. We lend our reputation to uplift and create visible platforms for Collective members. Marketing and outreach support is one of our foundational contributions. Sanctuary leads efforts to promote a strong culture of compassion, collaboration, community engagement, and philanthropy.

  • Members of the Collective benefit from being a part of a tight-knit group of similarly-minded professionals. Sanctuary regularly promotes collaborative initiatives and organizes quarterly peer networking meetings. In addition, Sanctuary staff is engaged in a variety of community organizations across the Valley, and is actively looking to help members connect with others on new business opportunities.

  • Sanctuary staff lends their professional experiences and insights to Collective members in ways that help them navigate the challenging world of self-employment. Whether it's providing guidance through the business start-up process, encouraging innovation, or refining their brand and communication strategies, Sanctuary aims to see everyone thrive.
