Financial Accessibility

Cost should not be a barrier to your health and wellbeing. We are here to help!

It Takes A Village

Too often, yoga and the healing arts are marketed as boutique health services. Barriers such as socioeconomic constraint and social prejudice perpetuate a homogenous culture and reinforce social inequity. Access to health and well-being is a basic human right.

Though our studio functions as a small business, we are, at our core, a service organization. We envision a diversity of bodies and lived experiences practicing alongside each other in our studio. In order to move toward this vision, we

  • have a pricing structure that includes tiered and sliding-scale options,

  • offer donation-based programming that starts as low as $5,

  • channel 100% of profits towards scholarships for all of our publicly available programming, and

  • facilitate a volunteer program.

Though we serve as many individuals as we can with these services, we can’t sustain this business model on our own. We need the entire community to participate. Our teachers, practitioners, and educators contribute by sharing part of the cost to make offerings financially accessible. We also have many generous students who participate by purchasing passes at the top end of our sliding-scale options.

Scholarships

Sanctuary offers scholarships for yoga classes, workshops, series, and educational programming to students who have a strong motivation to participate in these offerings but find our prices prohibitive—especially low-income individuals, new parents, and those who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC. We can do this this because we channel 100% of our profits towards this work! Please fill out the form below to request a scholarship. We look forward to connecting with you.

Volunteer

Our intention is to support an inclusive community that allows the teachings, practices, and benefits of movement and the healing arts to be accessible to everyone, especially low-income students and students who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC.

Whether you are interested in our yoga class schedule or the variety of workshops, series, and events we offer, there are many opportunities to get involved. Members of the Volunteer Program help us with basic tasks (i.e. tech support and customer service) in exchange for free access to select public programs. Specifically, volunteers are awarded an Unlimited Class Pass as well as free participation in the special programs for which they provide support.

We ask that students commit to a minimum of 3 months and volunteer at least 1 shift per month. Weekly shifts are available for those who can commit to the routine, as are one-off shifts for those with less flexible schedules. Ideally, new volunteers will have previously participated in an offering at the studio and will know they want to be a part of the Sanctuary community. If there is a financial barrier to your initial participation we’re happy to offer a Scholarship!
