Carole Renard
Birth Doula | Student Homebirth Midwife
(she/her)
Carole is a birth doula and student homebirth midwife serving families around Western Massachusetts. As a birth worker, she offers holistic, nurturing, and compassionate support to families as they navigate their pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum periods. She is passionate about body sovereignty, informed consent, and the right of birthing people and families to have access to compassionate care in which they feel seen, heard, safe, and empowered as they enter into this profoundly transformative experience. She approaches birth as a natural physiological event and brings trust and reverence for the beauty and mystery of each birth’s unique unfolding.
Since completing her doula training in 2014, Carole has shadowed midwives at The Birthplace in Greenfield, completed nursing prerequisites, learned about reproductive health and birth alongside other birth workers and healers around the world, taken herbalism courses, completed the Massachusetts Midwives’ Alliance Basic Midwifery Course, and joined the doula team at Seven Sisters Midwifery and Community Birth Center. Through these explorations of different approaches to birth and perinatal health, and as she began attending births and supporting families through their perinatal periods, the embodied sense of knowing that she was meant to do this work deepened. With every new family that Carole has the honor of supporting, her passion for and dedication to birth work continues to grow.
