Hannah Smith

Yoga Instructor | Creative Writing Facilitator

(she/her)

Hannah’s yoga classes are moving meditations based in vinyasa yoga and delight. Vinyasa yoga focuses on linking the breath with movement. Delight focuses on enjoying our time together.

Hannah’s hope as a yoga teacher is that her students find moments of contentment, strength and mindfulness on their yoga mats, so that they can later discover those same gems off the mat.

Yoga is an individual practice to find balance in your inner world, as well as the group practice of community building. Hannah wants to connect with her yoga students and together, create and hold space that is both nourishing and empowering.

Hannah was first introduced to yoga in 2006. Over the following decade she joined many different yoga studios and considered herself a casual yoga practitioner. However, in 2019, she discovered vinyasa yoga and yin yoga and returned to her mat with joy, consistency, and love. She was in a deeply transitional place in her life in 2019. She’d just graduated from grad school, married her husband, and was looking for a fruitful way to use her new degree. Through exhaustive rounds of job interviews and tumultuous existential questions about life, she found comfort, community and strength on her yoga mat. She discovered forgiveness through hip openers, inner strength through fiery Warrior flows, and an open heart through gentle and deep backbends. Encouraged by her yoga teachers, Lauren Lewis and Heather Adris, Hannah pursued a yoga teacher training. Hannah received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate in 2021.

Hannah’s yoga practice is called “Listen Deeply Yoga” because you know what you need. She’ll just help you tune in.
