(she/her)

Raised in Northern California, Kelly Vogel learned to sing around campfires, in choirs, and within the raucous swell of gospel groups. She is a singer/songwriter and pianist who created Sound Passage, a practice that uses the voice as a vehicle for embodied self-exploration and growth. Kelly developed Sound Passage through a playful approach to vocalizing that combines singing and sounding with gentle, mindful movement. Kelly enjoys helping others find their voice through this gentle, embodied practice.

Kelly is also an educator and facilitator in higher education with over 20 years of experience. She has an MA in Literature and teaches writing at Holyoke Community College, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Studies at Lesley University with a focus on Trauma-Informed Pedagogy in Higher Ed. One of her research interests is how embodied practices, including the use of one’s own voice, might play a role in improving the learning experiences of students.

Originally from San Francisco, Kelly lives in Easthampton with her husband and daughter, and is often found walking and humming in the woods near her home with her dog, Tula.
