(she/her)

Kyla began her yoga practice in high school as a stressed, undernourished, perfectionist teen seeking something to help her feel better. It was an instant match and yoga helped balance her dance training by offering another, kinder way of inhabiting her body. She entered her first teacher training while in her first year at Hampshire College and continued to study with her teacher Patty Townsend for many years. Simultaneously, she began practicing vipassana meditation and has had an ongoing practice and sat many retreats.

Kyla loves using the template of yoga as a method to balance the body-mind system. Her practice and teaching have evolved over the years to prioritize rest as the basis for everything else, especially vigorous practice.

Kyla has a private psychotherapy practice and loves working with people dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and chronic illness, seeing these symptoms as messengers guiding us toward wellbeing. In her one-on-one work, she also uses energy medicine (reiki and acupressure) to help harmonize the meridians and energy centers to support health and healing.
