with Sherry Sidoti
Note: Join Sherry for a free “behind the book” conversation about her award-winning memoir A Smoke and a Song, moderated by author Celia Jeffries, on Friday, April 12th.
Is healing found in “letting go” as the spiritual teachings insist, or is it found by digging our heals deeper into the earth and holding on to our humanness?
Join Sherry Sidoti, yoga teacher and author of the memoir A Smoke and a Song, to explore movement, meditation, and memoir writing as muse for meaning-making and healing.
The two-hour workshop includes a thirty- minute accessible movement and contemplation practice, a writing prompt and time for free writing, group sharing (optional) and Q & A.
No writing or yoga experience necessary–just a willingness to show up authentically and an openness to discover what wants to find you in the process.
Themes we explore:
Cellular memory and the stories homed in our bodies
Transgenerational inheritance and dharma
The complexity of memory/What is truth?
Movement and contemplation practices we explore:
Gentle yoga practice
Five Sense Awareness
Inner and Outer Resourcing
Saturday, April 13th, 12-2pm (in-studio)
