with Kat Now
As winter thaws into spring in an uncertain world, we may find ourselves feeling uneven or anxious within. This offering is designed to promote self-soothing through singing or humming while simultaneously moving through a gentle yoga practice. Instruction includes mudra, gentle yoga, and chanting mantra to tone the vagus nerve and promote the experience of inner calm. This workshop gives participants practices they can carry into their daily life to trust that a sense of balance is always within. Practice will end with a soothing live music savasana that students will be invited to rest and listen to, or participate in creating as needed.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of prior experience with yoga, music, or lived experience with anxiety.
This workshop is led by Kat Now, a lifelong singer who trained at The Boston Conservatory and performed opera for 20 years, but now sings and teaches yogic music as a therapeutic mindfulness practice. Kat is a Kripalu-trained yoga teacher with additional training and interest in accessible yoga for disabled and neurodivergent communities. This workshop is intended as a supplemental wellness practice, and does not replace professional physical or mental health treatment.
